Ruby in Kyanite Semi-Polished Point (UV Reactive)
Description
These semi-polished Ruby in Kyanite Crystal Points showcase a striking natural contrast between cool blue kyanite and deep ruby inclusions. The stones have been semi polished to accentuate their color while intentionally leaving portions of the natural stone intact.
In natural light, the kyanite displays deep blue tones with visible internal texture, while the ruby appears as darker red to magenta zones embedded within the stone. Under ultraviolet light, the ruby fluoresces vividly, transforming the pieces with an intense magenta to pink glow that sharply contrasts against the non-reactive kyanite. This dual presentation makes each specimen visually compelling both on natural and UV display.
Dimensions & Weight
Each piece varies slightly. You will receive one ruby in kyanite semi-polished point.
Dimensions: approximately 2.5”-3”
Weight: approximately 90g-140g
Collector’s Notes
Ruby in Kyanite is valued for both its saturated blue color and its drastic transformation under UV light. These crystals are polished enough to highlight form and color, yet raw enough to retain their natural state. The fluorescence adds an additional layer of collectibility, appealing to both mineral collectors and UV enthusiasts.
Each piece is one of a kind, with variations in ruby concentration, color zoning, and kyanite texture. No two are exactly alike.
Highlights
Natural ruby crystals hosted in blue kyanite
Semi-polished finish Strong ruby fluorescence under blacklight
Distinct geometric, tower-like forms
Each specimen is unique in color distribution and glow
Metaphysical Properties
Ruby in Kyanite is often associated with vitality, balance, and aligned energy. Ruby is linked to passion, strength, and motivation, while kyanite is believed to encourage clarity, energetic alignment, and calm focus. Together, they are thought to support grounded action guided by clear intention.
Mineralogy
Minerals: Corundum (Ruby) in Kyanite
Colors: Blue-gray kyanite with red to purplish ruby
Luster: Vitreous to silky
Crystal Systems:
Ruby (Corundum): Trigonal
Kyanite: Triclinic
Hardness:
Ruby: 9 (Mohs)
Kyanite: Variable, approximately 4.5–7
Special Feature: Ruby exhibits fluorescence under UV light
