Prehnite is a calcium aluminum silicate mineral known for its soft translucent glow and soothing green tones. It was one of the first minerals ever named after a person—Colonel Hendrik von Prehn, a Dutch military commander and mineral collector.
The dark inclusions in these towers are Epidote, a calcium aluminum iron sorosilicate mineral often found alongside Prehnite in hydrothermal environments and basalt cavities. In polished material, Epidote can appear as mossy patches, needle-like sprays, or dramatic black-green inclusions.
This naturally paired combination is especially adored for its fresh spring-like colors and organic, botanical appearance.
